''Love Letter'' is another painting that focuses on the relationships of trees as allegories for
interpersonal relationships. Two old trees sway together, moving closer to one another in an
apocalyptic haze. In the foreground, two skeletons of trees are criss-crossed together in a
posthumous embrace. Smaller trees peak out of the general foliage. A cloud moves across the
sky, indicating stormy weather. In contrast to the foreground forest off ''Ghost Ship'', the inner
forest here opens up into a mouth-like void.
