Part of a dyptich artwork, the color palette represents the artist’s foray into a more reddish color palette, that became her signature for the following decade. The splitting of the canvas into two or more parts can be seen here as well, which also became a staple in her paintings and prints. Noticeably, here she is using less of the silk painting glue technique she developed during the 1980s, which gradually became replaced with more spontaneous painting techniques such as monoprinting and freehand applications.
