The title of this painting is a famous view approaching the valley. It is depicted in Ansel Adams photographs and an iconic Bierstadt painting. Playing off of the name of the view, this painting repeats the same landscape supported by various frames, a car view, a panoramic and the view emerging from the tunnel. It is supposed to represent the joy of traveling, referencing the history of this view, and its continual importance in experiencing Yosemite.
